“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Introduction
Life does not always go according to our plans. There are seasons when everything seems to be going well, and there are seasons when we face uncertainty, disappointment, difficulty, and questions about what comes next.
But regardless of the season we are in, one thing remains true: God is faithful.
We may not understand everything God is doing, but we can trust the One who sees the beginning, the middle, and the end.
The Bible reminds us in Isaiah 41:10:
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God.”
God does not promise that we will never face difficult circumstances. He promises that we will never have to face them alone.
1. Trust God Even When You Do Not Understand
Sometimes we want God to explain everything before we are willing to trust Him.
We ask:
“Why is this happening?”
“When will things change?”
“What is God doing?”
There may be times when we do not receive an immediate answer. Faith means trusting God even when we cannot see the whole picture.
2 Corinthians 5:7 says:
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
Our circumstances may change, but God’s character does not change.
Hebrews 13:8 tells us:
“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
When you cannot understand the situation, remember who God is.
He is faithful.
He is merciful.
He is powerful.
He is present.
And He is still working.
2. God Is With Us in Difficult Seasons
There are moments when we may feel alone, but God’s presence does not depend on how we feel.
Psalm 23:4 says:
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me.”
Notice that the Scripture says “though I walk through the valley.”
The valley is not the final destination.
You may be walking through a difficult season, but you do not have to remain there forever.
God walks with His people through the valley.
He gives strength when we are weak.
He gives peace when we are troubled.
He gives hope when circumstances seem hopeless.
3. Do Not Give Up
One of the greatest dangers during a difficult season is becoming discouraged and giving up.
But Scripture encourages us to remain faithful.
Galatians 6:9 says:
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
There is a due season.
Your current situation does not determine your entire future.
Keep praying.
Keep believing.
Keep seeking God.
Keep doing what is right.
Keep trusting His Word.
You may not see the answer today, but God is not limited by what you can see.
4. God Has a Purpose for Your Life
God did not create us without purpose.
Jeremiah 29:11 says:
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
God knows where He is taking you.
That does not mean every step will be easy. It means that our lives are not without purpose.
When we place our lives in God’s hands, we can move forward with confidence.
Romans 8:28 reminds us:
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
God can take difficult experiences and use them for His purpose.
He can take our weaknesses and demonstrate His strength.
He can take our disappointments and teach us perseverance.
He can take our testimony and use it to encourage someone else.
5. Put Your Hope in God
People and circumstances can change, but God remains our source of hope.
Psalm 121:1–2 says:
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.”
Our help comes from the Lord.
When we are uncertain, look to God.
When we are discouraged, look to God.
When we need wisdom, look to God.
When we need strength, look to God.
When we celebrate victories, give God the glory.
Conclusion
Whatever season you are experiencing today, remember this:
God has not forgotten you.
Your situation may change.
Your circumstances may change.
People may change.
But God remains faithful.
Lamentations 3:22–23 says:
“It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
Every morning is another reminder of God’s mercy.
Every new day is an opportunity to trust Him again.
So do not allow fear to control you.
Do not allow disappointment to define you.
Do not allow your current circumstances to determine your faith.
Trust God.
Follow His Word.
Keep praying.
Keep believing.
And keep moving forward.
Final Scripture
Psalm 37:5
“Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”
Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your faithfulness and Your love. Thank You that we can trust You in every season of our lives.
When we do not understand what is happening, help us to trust You. When we are discouraged, give us strength. When we are afraid, remind us that You are with us.
Help us to walk by faith and not by sight. Guide our decisions, strengthen our families, and help us to remain faithful to Your Word.
Let our lives be a testimony of Your goodness and grace.

Whatever occurs, the Lord has utilized this whole procedure to cultivate further solidarity, love, support, and duty as an assemblage. Simply this week (in Lord’s Day adore and in two mid-week little gatherings) I’ve encountered probably the best and most cheering association since we started the work in 2013. I adore Christ Church. Christ Church, how about we revel in what’s most significant, regardless of whether we don’t yet have what is less significant—a changeless office.
